Comments of Origen
They operate more than homilies and aim to explain Scripture in the commentary today. In his comments, Origen often develop allegorism chosen by subjective criteria, not fully explain the literal sense. Origen commented several books of the Old and New autumn. The Old Testament books were kept in the Song of Songs 4 and the New Testament, Eusebius mentions that came to him Commentary on the Gospel of Matthew, 25 books and Commentary on the Gospel of John, in 22 books. Many fragments were kept transmitted by "Philokalia" and "Chains".
. Written homilies by Origen
Origen wrote around 500 homilies. Less than half were kept about 200, and this thanks to Latin translation of Rufinus and Jerome. Homilies were drafted in simple terms, folk, avoiding rhetoric, though in a style parenthetically, with applications to life auditors. There are several homilies kept in original (Jeremiah 20, 1 to I Samuel 28, 3-25) [1]. The Latin of St. Jerome retained are: two from the Song of Songs 8 Isaiah, Jeremiah 14, 14 Iezechel, 39 Luke. From Rufin we homilies on Genesis 16, Exodus 13, Leviticus 16 [2], Numbers 28, Joshua 26, 9 and 9 Judges Psalms. They have retained 22 fragments of homilies on Job Pictavianul translated by St. Hilary.
