Iconography Ermen Cathedral in Bistrita

By participating in the religious services of the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul noticed some interesting paintings.
On the left apse above the iconostasis is painted "St. Solomon". I do not know what criteria or canons painted painter, but in terms of scholastic canonists in the Old Testament, prophets and people with clean life were called "Righteous". If we read the Gospel of Candlemas (February 2) we see that the old man Simeon is named as. Passing over this notion of semantic interesting is that Solomon does not really belong among the "saints" because poligames
. Although God gives him wisdom and lost wealth, Solomon mix with women from other nations (pagan) and sacrifice to the gods, and all this adds exuberant number of women in his life. Probably go on the premise origins of Solomon the son of David and his moments of repentance that led theologians to pass him among the saints.
A two paintings rarely seen in our churches is the deacon's doors. Usually these doors are Archangels Michael and Gabriel standing cherubs symbolizing the "Heaven's Gate" so the church, the altar signifies heaven and not everyone has access to the sanctuary before to have specific training.
The Archangels Cathedral are painted on the doors, but St. Archdeacon Stephen and St. Lawrence which was still deacon. Although the doors called "deacon's doors" these doors of the cathedral were crowned with beautiful and interesting painting of the two deacons.

Of course if we analyze these churches painting, we learn many interesting details and sensational even for connoisseurs ...
